ACLE resounding success

14 September 2004

The All China Leather Exhibition (ACLE), China International Footwear Fair (CIFF) and Moda Shanghai 2004 were heralded a resounding success by organisers, with visitor numbers up 20% on last year. The events, held at the Shanghai New International Expo Centre, attracted 14,980 visitors from 78 countries. 'While the leather industry in Mainland China continues to grow, ACLE, CIFF and Moda Shanghai have become the annual meeting place for leather professionals to source new products and suppliers, while meeting old friends', said Michael Duck, director of the Asia Pacific Leather Fair. 'According to the feedback we received from the buyers, they were pleased with the exhibitor mix. Many of them had placed on-site orders' , added Duck. Over 910 companies from 35 countries exhibited an extensive array of leather and related products including raw materials, machinery and chemicals at ACLE, and fashionable shoes and leather products were displayed at CIFF and Moda Shanghai. To reflect China's status as one of the world's major automobile and furniture manufacturers, ACLE organised a special seminar on upholstery leather. Other seminars covered the latest developments in leather manufacturing technology, designs, tannery and quality control. The next edition of ACLE, CIFF and Moda Shanghai will be held from September 7-9, 2005 at the Shanghai New International Exhibition Centre.
