Rudolf Alber, based in Germany, are a leading manufacturer of bandknives for use on splitting machines for a wide range of leather types. This is the result of decades of experience within the leather sector and a close collaboration with steel mills.

Despite the global recession, Rudolf Alber have made a major investment of around $1 million in 2009 at their factory in Germany, which includes a completely new system for raw steel control and cut-to-length processing.
‘With this sophisticated system we can guarantee a 100% quality control from the first step of production’, commented Florian Alber, the latest member of the Alber family involved in the business that was founded in 1912 by his great-grandfather.
Alber have also increased their production capacity and improved order processing following the restructuring at their production site located in Ebersbach near Stuttgart.
Additional investments include a photovoltaic solar-energy supply plus a new integrated exhaust system to make Alber completely independent from energy cost increases while also decreasing their own CO2 emissions.
