7 June 2011

The half-day ‘Upholstery Leather in Asia’ conference will be held at the newly built 5-star, Kerry Hotel in the Pudong district of Shanghai on September 5. The Kerry is part of the Shangri-La Hotel Group and is located next to the Shanghai New International Expo Centre (SNIEC).
The event is sponsored by BASF and National Beef Leathers and will take place the day before the start of the ACLE, which takes place at the SNIEC, September 6-8.

‘BASF Leather Chemicals is honoured to support the upcoming upholstery event organised by Leather International. We recognise the growing importance of the leather market in Asia, especially in the automotive upholstery,’ says Joachim Henkmann, Head of Regional Business Management - East Asia Pacific, BASF Leather Chemicals. ‘The event is a good platform to engage the automotive industry in active discussion. We will present BASF's contribution on sustainable leather solution, covering both improved leather performance as well as topics such as Carbon Footprint. The presentations will address the concerns of our automotive customers’, added Dr Gerhard Wolf, Head of Global Technical Competence Centre, BASF Leather Chemicals.
