Bayer interest in Aventis

Bayer AG have said they are interested in acquiring parts of the agrochemical business of the FrancoGerman lifesciences company Aventis, who said they wanted to sell their agrochemicals operations to concentrate on drugs. Bayer were also said to be interested in parts of Cognis, the chemical products unit, that parent company Henkel said they were selling.
