British equestrian leather heads for Athens

British leather manufacturers Pittards are celebrating after British eventer Jeanette Brakewell has definitely been confirmed as a member of the British Olympic team. Pittards have been sponsoring Jeanette for three years following her success at the Australian Olympics in 2000, where she won team Silver. 'Jeanette has won an enviable collection of international medals including individual silver at the World Equestrian Games in 2002 and was the top woman rider at Badminton this year', said Pittards' marketing manager Caroline Spillane. 'Both Jeanette and her Olympic horse Over to You are in excellent form and are serious contenders for an Olympic medal. It would be fantastic if she won gold this time.' Jeanette says part of her success is down to having the best horse and also the very best equipment. Her saddle is made with Pittards' equestrian leather, a highly technical water-resistant leather developed to give lightness and comfort to the horse together with ease and perfect grip for the rider. Her riding boots and her riding gloves are made in leather specially developed by Pittards to give exceptional feel and performance in equestrian activities. 'Nothing has been left to chance for Jeanette's performances in Athens', said Caroline. 'Everyone in Pittards is right behind her and I know we will all be glued to the television in August.'
