Buckman Laboratories announces new general manager in Singapore

Buckman Laboratories have announced the appointment of Robert Leigh Fleetwood Mann to the position of general manager of the company's Singapore location. As Buckman's investment in the eastern half of the world grows, the company continue to invest in new and invigorating leadership in offices in the East. Mann was born and educated in South Africa. He attended Natal University and graduated in 1981 with a degree in Chemistry. He then attended the University of South Africa in 1989 and 1990 and graduated from the management development programme. In 1999, Mann attended Harvard Business School in the US and completed the management development program there. Mann began his career with Buckman in 1984 as a research and development chemist. He later excelled in sales for Buckman in both the industrial water treatment and papermaking technologies divisions. Recently Mann was promoted to national sales manager for all specialty chemical sales in Buckman's South African office. In August of 2003, Mann took the helm of Buckman's Singapore operation as a result of his latest promotion to general manager. Mann is a long standing member of the Technical Association of the Pulp and Paper Industry (TAPPI), and Tappsa, Eastern Region and Executive Committee Member for fifteen years.
