Buckman opens in Chennai

Buckman Laboratories, who supply a wide range of speciality chemicals to the world's leading industries, have opened their new technical service centre at Chrompet, Chennai, Southern India. In his welcoming address Dennis Dalton, managing director of Buckman Laboratories (Asia) Pte Ltd, said Buckman's choice of India for this investment should send a strong note of confidence to the Indian tanning industry and its future in the global leather market. He said it was Buckman's aim and mission to help Indian industries better their position in the market. In his inaugural address Mohamed Hashim, chairman of the Council for Leather Exports, gave a brief description of Buckman Labs before adding that the company have been serving the Indian industry for several years and have contributed much to its expansion. He expressed a strong hope that with their ever expanding range of speciality chemicals, Buckman Laboratories would be able to serve the industry with a complete range of products and services from Beamhouse to finishing. 'Investment in this new facility marks Buckman Laboratories' commitment to the Indian leather Industry', he remarked.
