Bureau de Style design for Imagine

Bureau de Style Chaussure Maroquinerie Cuir has been asked by Midec to design and follow up Imagine, a fashion section at the fair that focuses on young designers and new footwear ideas. Emmanuelle Kerdaffrec, a footwear and leathergoods designer, who is involved in training at the Institut Colbert and is in close touch with young designers, is taking over from Suzanne Marest. With a view to generating greater synergy between designers and manufacturers, the concept of Imagine has evolved. Six young designers have been asked to design prototypes which will be displayed at Midec next March. Bureau de Style will put each designer in contact with an industrial partner and at Midec the following September the designer-manufacturer team will present an emblematic model produced in the intervening period. The idea is to introduce a new dynamic to accentuate the industrial dimension of design and foster links between young designers looking for manufacturers and footwear firms looking for new fashion ideas to explore.
