Carlessi and Linta together at Tanning Tech

6 June 2007

Carlessi and Linta are familiar faces at Tanning Tech where they will once again be sharing a stand. Carlessi have been active in the tanning machinery sector since 1953 and are known widely for their finishing lines and drying tunnels. One of Linta's greatest achievements has been the construction of the first splitting machine in the world for wet-blue hides where no operators are required to feed in the hides. The new Diamond Splitting machine with automatic feed of hides coming from a throughfeed sammying machine for wet-blue, connects the two machines by means of a conveyor belt and creates the first automated sammying-splitting line. By this new and innovative application the hides are now automatically fed into the splitting machine with no need for operators. The advantages are numerous: * Total security as there are no operators at the splitting machine * Labour saving at splitting * No hide displacement and stock piling after sammying * Splitting precision as hides will be perfectly flat Linta's Diamond splitting machine once more assures Linta of their key role in the tanning machinery industry. The Diamond splitter with automatic feeding system is being used for both wet-blue and dry, for bovine hides and sheep and goat skins. The machine has a great application in the automotive leather process, where it is used for crust levelling and finished hides. The automatic feed in allows working on whole hides, preventing any possible damage to the surface and consequent footage loss and a splitting tolerance of less than one tenth of a metre. The extreme reliability, ease of use, precision, productivity and total safety make this line essential for obtaining leather with even thickness, ready for finishing and cutting. The new splitting technology works with the grain side down. Linta believe that the Diamond splitting machine is the best solution to problems connected to even thickness of wet-white tanning which, helps avoid differences during dyeing, greasing and drying. Even in wet-blue splitting, the Linta Diamond machine has proved to be a success as it is now possible to directly connect the wet-blue sammying machine by means of a conveyor belt, avoiding the presence of workers in the feed in area of the splitter.
