CHINESE DRUM and paddle manufacturers, Huichang Yuto Co Ltd, have begun exporting their equipment outside the domestic market. According Shine Zhong, managing director, half of all sales are now exported to tanners in South East Asia, Australia and Latin America. Yuto, of Jiangxi, started manufacturing tannery vessels in 1980 and now produce several wooddrum sizes and three paddles. The drums range from tailor made pilot scale drums to large four metre radius liming vessels. The paddles are available in 3,500kg, 25,000kg and 30,000kg sizes. The drums are assembled using machinery imported from Germany and Yuto supply all the pegs, shelves and mechanical parts for the drums. The gearboxes and driving gear control parts are also imported from Germany. As well as liming, tanning and dyeing, and pilot plant drums Yuto also supply dry milling drums.
