Chinese oxhide imports for December

China's General Administration of Customs have reported that China imported 59,365 tons of oxhide leather worth US$149 million in December. A total of 4,141 units of tanning and shoe manufacturing equipment worth US$6.39 million were also imported during the month. Figures for last year show that China imported tanning and shoe manufacturing equipment worth US$85.5 million, an increase of 18.8% as compared with 1999.
