Clariant at European Coatings Show 2005

12 April 2005

Research and development at Clariant never stop. Just in time for the European Coatings Show 2005, the Division Pigments & Additives announces additional pigments and pigment preparations for special applications. Colorants for leather finishes, coloured pencils, and school and artist colours have to fulfill high requirements - in addition to high opacity, they have to be resistant to migration and heat. Because of their exposure to all sorts of environments, leather finishes also require colorants with high lightfastness even at high temperatures. The '70s' brands from Clariant, comprising the product ranges Permanent, Hostaperm, Novoperm, PV Fast, and Graphtol, have shown their effectiveness in these applications. Recent additions to the portfolio are two high-performance pigments with the Colour Index Pigment Red 254, which are produced based on diketopyrrolopyrrole (DPP) chemistry. Hostaperm Red D2G 70 and D3G 70 are high-end red pigments with excellent fastness and outstanding colour strength and opacity.
