Cromogenia-Units have unveiled several new products. Fosfol SLN is a fatliquor specifically designed for clothing leathers. It is an anionic fatliquor whose composition is based on sulfonated vegetable oils and soya. Leathers fatliquored with Fosfol SLN stand out because of their grain softness and smoothness. Crust leathers show a good whiteness degree and an excellent fastness to light. It is advisable to add 3-4 parts of water at 50-55°C to 1 part of Fosfol SLN. * Water content: 30 +- 1% * pH (at 10% emulsion): 7 +- 1 * Physical appearance: semi-fluid dark brown oil Fosfol NA is a fatliquor specifically designed for clothing leathers. It is an anionic fatliquor whose composition is based on sulfonated natural and synthetic oils with characteristics similar to those of sperm oil. Leathers fatliquored with Fosfol NA offer a soft and smooth feel. Crust leathers show a good whiteness degree and an excellent fastness to light. Enjoying an excellent dyeing performance, leathers fatliquored with Fosfol NA and dyed have a good colour levelness and intensity, as well as a better tear resistance. It is advisable to add 3-4 parts of water at 50-55°C to 1 part of Fosfol NA. The resulting emulsion is highly stable. * Water content: 30 +- 1% * pH (at 10% emulsion): 7 +- 1 * Physical form: Brownish-coloured free-flowing oil Fosfol AUT C-3 is a fatliquor for car upholstery leather. It is an anionic fatliquor based on a sulfited deodorised fish oil and light in colour. Fosfol AUT C-3 is a fatliquor with an excellent penetration power and high fixation capacity. Its water emulsions show a very good resistance both to hard waters and to low acidity, as well as to chrome tanning agents, and electrolytes. Leathers which have been fatliquored with Fosfol AUT C-3 enjoy an improved physical resistance. Light fastness, heat resistance and fogging tests are also excellent. Fosfol AUT C-3 lends the leather a very soft and natural feel on the surface, as well as slight elasticity. Add 3-4 parts of water at 50-55°C to 1 part of Fosfol AUT C-3 to get a very stable emulsion. * Water emulsion: 30 +- 1% * pH (10% emulsion): 7 +- 1 Repelan PSH is a polymeric product specially designed for waterproofed hides and skins, and for washable leathers. It is an anionic product and is a free-flowing transparent liquid. Repelan PSH is a retanning-fatliquoring copolymer that lends to the leather a high degree of water-repellent properties when it is fixed by means of metal salts (chrome, aluminium and zirconium). Items treated with Repelan PSH offer a pleasant feel and an excellent fullness. The degree of softness is directly proportional to the quantity of product used. It can be used on the production of washable leathers, which do not lose their feel or their natural appearance even after many washes. Leathers treated with Repelan PSH enjoy an excellent lightfastness and heat resistance. It is advisable not to use it in leathers that have been neutralised at a pH value below 4.8-5.0. Repelan PSH can be easily emulsified in water. Normally it is applied as a normal bath fatliquor at a rate of 100-150% and a temperature of 45-55°C. Running time ranges between 1-2 hours. It is fixed with formic acid at a pH of 3.8-4.0. The waterproofing treatment is carried out in a separate bath at a temperature of 30-40°C with the addition of chrome salt (2-4%) for coloured leathers or of aluminium or zirconium in the case of light-coloured items. * Water content: 44 +- 1% * pH (10% emulsion): 7 +- 1 Retanal PR-210 is a polymeric retanning agent fatliquor specifically designed for the retanning of leathers that require a high level of grain firmness and an excellent fullness. Retanal PR-210 offers a high degree of firmness to the grain and an excellent lubricating action. The use of Retanal PR-210 strengthens the resistance to grain-burst (Lastomer), increases the internal compactness, gives deep bright colours, and an important colour-levelness. Retanal PR-210 shows an excellent stability to hard waters (150°F), as well as to acids. With chrome, it precipitates and forms an elastic and sticky precipitate. Once the leathers have been neutralised, and prior to the fatliquoring (but in the same bath with water at 50-60°C), add 5-10% of Retanal PR-210 (depending on the item). Then, carry out the fatliquor and go on as usual. * Physical form: a slightly coloured transparent liquid * Water content: 50 +- 1% * pH (at 10%): 7.5 +- 1 Desencalante SE-01 is an organic deliming product, completely free from ammonia salts. It acts in depth and succeeds in achieving a complete degreasing, even in heavyweight and highly thick leathers, in a short time. Final pH is around 8, which is ideal to get an excellent behaviour of the bating agents. Components making up Desencalante SE-01 give a slow reduction of the swelling in pelts, as well as a very effective removal of the lime. As a consequence, you get a very clean grain, a good colour levelness and a fine and firm grain. Desencalante SE-01 can be used together with sodium bisulfite and in short floats, as it has a strong lime solubilisation power. It can be added to the drum directly in powder form, without any need to previously dilute it. * pH (5% solution): 2 +- 1 * Acidity: 240 +- 20mg KOH/g * Concentration: 97-98% Ribersal LA is a liming auxiliary free from aminic derivatives, which causes a strong reduction of swelling during the liming process, both in destructive and in hair-preserving unhairing operations. Ribersal LA boosts the penetration of the sulfide and the lime, thus helping to get cleaner pelts without hair roots. It stands out from the crowd because of the improvement it brings to the regions around the wrinkles (belly and shoulders). * pH (10% solution): 12-13 * Solids: 52 +- 2%
