DyStar to continue in leather

22 February 2010

DyStar have announced that after long negotiations Kiri Dyes & Chemcials Ltd (KDCL) have finally become the new owner including the leather business unit. DyStar have confirmed that they will maintain their activities in the leather industry through its formerly acquired Boehme brands. DyStar also confirm that it is committed to continue research, application excellence, quality and ecology that are available to all its business partners worldwide.

DyStar and KDCL will operate as independent companies and DyStar will continue to offer its comprehensive range of dyes and process chemicals as well as services to the textile industry.
Although the Geretsried site is not part of the assets purchased, DyStar will continue to manufacture and sell such well-known former Boehme branded chemicals such as Cutapol and Eskatan. Manufacture of these products will take place in DyStar’s other manufacturing assets worldwide that are to be confirmed. Production and sale of dyes under the Solvaderm brand name will also continue.
The company expects to see significant opportunities by combining its own forward integration to the leather industry with KDCL’s backwards integration into raw materials and intermediates.
