From New York to Paris – the evolution of Première Vision

20 June 2016

Première Vision continues to expand its international destinations for leather, and on 19–20 July, there will be an increased contingent of tanneries at Première Vision New York with more exhibitors than the edition at the beginning of the year, which was the first show with a leather offering.

French, Italian, Brazilian and Turkish companies are renewing their participation for Première Vision after the impressive and productive edition held in January, which coincided with a particularly cold few days. Leather will once again be alongside some of the world’s top weavers, accessory-makers, design studios and manufacturers. In all, 40 exhibitors loyal to Première Vision Paris will kick off the autumn-winter 2017–18 season on US soil, and there will be an area of the fashion forum specially dedicated to them.

The second event for ready-to-wear, leather goods and footwear producers is the leather offering at Première Vision Paris on 13–15 September. Under the ‘Leather’ banner in Hall 3 of the Parc des Expositions at Paris Nord Villepinte, more than 300 exhibitors are expected, mostly from Europe (Italy, France, Spain, Portugal) and Turkey – all leaders in the fashion and luxury markets. These include the leather producers Russo di Cassandrino, Grupo Mastrotto and Falco Pellami, the Haas and Roux tanneries, Conceria Gaiera and Conceria Superior, Bonaudo and the exotic leathers of H.C.P.

A little further ahead

For September’s edition, Première Vision Leather has selected 22 new companies with exceptional savoir-faire and materials, including two Japanese companies, Rantan (specialising in indigo dyeing) and Komatsu (with a large range of textiles for accessories). Further new additions include the Swedish company Kero, with its reindeer leather; the UK company Sequel and its textiles for glittery accessories; and the French company Raynaud, with its 100% ‘Made in France’ vegetable-tanned leather.

As the season demands, there will also be an extensive range of sheepskins and furs. In addition to sheepskins from Doma, Inpelsa, Inducol and Yessiler, there will be a wide range of fur manufacturers: Yves Salomon, Terzakou, Gruber, Saga and Copenhagen Furs, and the newcomers Golden Pelle, Domenico Fur and Flash.

Whether they are sourcing for ready-to-wear or accessories, 60,000 international buyers will find leathers, accessories, manufacturers, weavers, studios and yarn-makers all under one roof in a show that is unique in the world: Première Vision Paris.
