Joachim Henkmann

Effective October 16, 2005, Joachim Henkmann, division manager Performance Chemicals Leather Italy in Arzignano, will take over responsibility as division manager Performance Chemicals Leather Greater China in Shanghai. Henkmann is no stranger to China, having worked for BASF since 1985 and working for them in Bangkok, Thailand; Shanghai, China; Barcelona, Spain; Arzignano, Italy; as well as Ludwigshafen, Germany. While working at Ludwigshafen, he was still focused on the Far East as country expert for Thailand and South Korea for pigments and process chemicals before relocating to Thailand from 1989-1993. He then returned to Germany where he coordinated the Far East region in matters of marketing services, strategies, budgeting and reporting, moving to Shanghai in 1994. He remained in China as senior manager, marketing pigments, until 1999, when he was appointed as senior manager, regional marketing, at BASF Curtex in Spain. Since 2002 he has served as division manager, Leather Italy, for BASF Italia SpA.
