Leading leather cleaner manufacturer comes home to Leeds

20 April 2006

Home is where the heart is for Leeds businessman, Paul Rylatt, who founded Cleans UK in Leeds after developing his own award-winning leather cleaning product. Business took off when Cleans UK moved to Bournemouth on the south coast. Paul started supplying retail giant Tesco this year and is two years into a contract to supply DIY chain Homebase. Now Paul's come back home to Leeds to expand Cleans UK and increase the workforce to service the Homebase and Tesco contracts. He has just moved into new premises in Rodley and the future looks rosy for the company which has won he BA Award for Cleaning Product Range of the Year. Rylatt's success is in the best tradition of self-made men from Yorkshire. After years of running his own car valeting business, he became obsessed with finding a product that would really clean leather properly. Operating on the principle that if you want something done then you should do it yourself, Paul got access to a laboratory and developed his own leather cleaner. The Rolls Royce factory couldn't get enough of his new liquid cleaner which he continued to develop until he converted it into a foam which shifts dirt even more effectively. Now the Cleans UK Leather Cleaner and Rejuvenator Kit has become legendary for its cleaning power on car seats, leather furniture and motorcycle leathers. Both the leather cleaner and the rejuvenator are stocked in Homebase throughout the UK and in 100 Tesco supermarkets with more Tesco outlets to come.
