12 September 2012

According to a report published on the website of the Sudan News Agency (SUNA) arrangements have completed at Obied airport in Sudan to receive on September 12 a Libyan plane carrying engineering equipment for establishment of modern slaughterhouse considered as a major Libyan-Sudanese investment project on exportation of slaughtered animal from the North Kordofan State.

An informed source at the state said to SUNA that the slaughterhouse would operate with a daily productive capacity reached 80 tons of different types of meat and would also include the arrival of equipment for a modern tannery supporting the footwear and leather industries.

The source pointed out that the projects would contribute to the acceleration of the economy in the state through augmentation of exports and job creation for citizens, adding that the coming days will witness the start of work in implementation of the slaughterhouse and the tannery.

The North Kordofan State exported during the last two months a number of live animals through an air-bridge to Libya.
