More business awards for SLG

The Renfrewshire Chamber of Commerce Business Awards 2012 (the ROCCOs) which took place in Renfrew, Scotland at the Normandy hotel saw tanners, Scottish Leather Group win two of the night’s 15 categories.


The ROCCO Award for ‘Journey to Zero Waste’, sponsored by The William Tracey Group, was presented to Scottish Leather Group and collected by Environmental Director, Dr Warren Bowden.

Commenting on the award win, Dr Bowden said: “Low Carbon Leather has become a central part of our marketing and future growth strategy, and this can only be delivered on the back of a successful journey to zero waste. Recognition at the ROCCOs is a very valuable accolade, and one that will be appreciated by our customers across many sectors around the world.”

In addition, the ROCCO Award for Business Leader of the Year, sponsored by Diageo, was presented to Scottish Leather Group Managing Director, Iain McFadyen.

Iain commented: “It is an honour to be named business leader of the year, which I put down to the continuing success of Scottish Leather Group. I lead a very talented team, and together we are taking our company from strength to strength and expanding the business both here in Scotland and internationally. It is our people and the unrivalled quality and environmental record of our product that leads globally-renowned customers such as Aston Martin, British Airways, FirstGroup, Jaguar Land Rover, Volvo and many others to continue specifying our low carbon leather.”
