Multiple chemical addition during milling

24 April 2002

Italprogetti have teamed up with their partners Genesis Ecotec to develop a new chemical dosing system to their milling drum. Italprogetti's milling drum has been available for a number of years but the updated system allows multiple chemical applications to the leather during dry drumming. On one side of the Italprogetti AMD milling drum, a series of pressurised valves have been added which are connected to up to four liquid chemicals. The new software allows up to ten programs to be stored to provide differing chemical additions. The unit then feeds a spray gun inside the drum. The major advantages of the new system is the ability to store a number of recipes and the addition of more than one chemical during the milling process without the need for changing the chemical container. Chemicals may be added for dedusting, oils for oily pull-up or other appearances such as writing effects on the leather.
