14 June 2012

William Riddell has been appointed as Managing Director of NCT Leather, part of the Scottish Leather Group.

Riddell has been involved with NCT Leather for over 20 years, having worked on the installation of the company’s phase 1 wet-blue plant mechanical services in the 1980s.

After completing his engineering apprenticeship in 1980, with Andrews Weatherfoil in Paisley, Riddell joined HOW Engineering Group – the company behind the construction of NCT Leather’s phase 1 wet-blue plant. He was later employed as the Engineering Manager of this project in 1989.

In 1992 William was appointed as the Works Manager for NCT Leather’s wet-blue plant, a position he held until 2005, when he became Commercial Manager and later, Commercial Director – responsible for rawhide purchases and sales of wet-blue hides and splits across the business.

Born in 1959, he was raised and educated in Paisley, Scotland and is married with two daughters.  His appointment as Managing Director of NCT Leather is effective immediately.
