New acrylic dispersions from Clariant

Clariant have introduced a series of acrylic resins and acrylic based compact binders to cover all aspects of leather finishing. The acrylic products are made at Clariant's production facilities around the world and complement the company's existing range. The acrylics are suitable for impregnating not only shoe leathers but also a whole variety of leather articles including automotive leathers. The highlights of the new acrylics for the field of impregnation: * Melio Resin A-719 is a universal impregnation resin with grain tightening effects * Melio Resin A-716 has an excellent impregnation effect for softer leather Fine particle sized products for garment and lightweight leathers have existed for years (eg Melio Resin A-776, Melio Resin A-777A). In this area, Clariant have added Melio Resin A-935 and Melio Resin A-936. They are both very soft and very elastic acrylic dispersions specifically designed for full grain garment leathers and shoe nappa. The company have also devised a number of base coat applications that can be used for all types of leathers. Clariant now offer the new Melio Resin A-948 which has a medium soft film and has excellent covering and embossing behaviour. Melio Resin A-946 is also suitable for automotive finishes thanks to its extreme properties under cold conditions. They have also created two new compact products: * Melio Resin A-821 is especially for super soft corrected grain furniture leathers * Melio Resin A-823 imparts an excellent coverage with a superior print definition on corrected grain shoe upper and upholstery Both acrylic based compacts offer a high degree of fastness and, along with Melio Resin A-820, will become key products in Clariant's efforts to provide new leather chemicals for the finishing market worldwide.
