New chairman at Scottish Tanning Industries

The board of Scottish Tanning Industries have announced the appointment of Jonathan Muirhead as chairman, following the annual general meeting held at the end of June. This will follow the retirement of Scott Grier who has served as chairman since 1997. Muirhead joined Scottish Tanning Industries Group in 1970. He has served on the main board since 1979 and was managing director of Bridge of Weir Leather Company from 1985-2000. The group, which comprises Andrew Muirhead and Son Ltd, Bridge of Weir, Garston Leather Ltd, NCT Leather Ltd and W J and W Laing Ltd, are the UK's largest bovine tanners.
