New open offices for Hulshof

1 July 2001

Hulshof Royal Dutch Tanneries have grown out of all proportion and after the renovation and enlargement of the tannery in 1991 and the construction of the new finishing department in 1994, they are ready for new premises. They want to get away from the traditional tannery image since they have developed into a high- tech company which serves the international furniture industry. They say that in the field of environment and automation they are ahead of the world. This will be expressed by means of ultra modern,. futuristic office premises, designed by an architect from Achterhoek and built by a contractor from Achterhoek. The letters in steel, which weigh 2.5 tons each, are shown in the picture and will decorate the facade of the building. These have also been made by a steel constructor from Achterhoek. The result will be an open, spatial building with glazed interior walls and various viewing holes to symbolise and strengthen the open corporate culture. The design concept is based on two fundamental shapes: the triangle placed over a square. 'In the office will be a fantastic customer/conference room and there will be a very special canteen where, with catering, customers can be welcomed', says Mr Hulshof who is also very enthusiastic about the reception where a permanent exposition showing the 125 years of Hulshof will be displayed. The opening of the new premises is scheduled for September.
