New PTA and PLGMEA chairmen

S M Naseem, chief executive of MIMA Leather, Karachi, has been elected chairman of the Pakistan Tanners' Association for the fifth time while Sh Sadiq Saeed Masood of Khas Industries, Karachi, and Khawaja M Ilyas of Khawaja Tanneries, Multan, were elected vice chairmen of the central executive committee for 2006-07. The members of the central executive committee of PTA elected for the year 2006-07 are Aziz Malik of Leathertex Gloving, Lahore; Ejaz Ahmed Shaikh of Bombal Leather, Karachi; Mansoor Iqbal of Dada Enterprises, Lahore; Naeem Javed of Leather Master, Sialkot; S Anjum Zafar of Eastern Leather, Lahore; Shahid Mahmood of Hafiz Enterprises, Karachi; Shahid Usman of A A Leather, Lahore; Tanveer Aslam Chawla of Chawla Tanneries, Kasur; Tanweer Ahmed of M Mohamed Shafi & Co, Karachi; Zahid Haleem of Leather Craft, Karachi; Sh M Afzal Hussain of Hussain Leather Craft, Karachi; Shaikh Muhammad Naeem of Shafi, Lahore and Khawaja M Yousuf (co-opted) of Mehr Dastgir Leather & Footwear Industries. PLGMEA have also announced the results of their elections. Ch Ahmed Zulfiqar Hayat has been unanimously re-elected the chairman of the Pakistan Leather Garments Manufacturers and Exporters Association (PLGMEA) Central for 2006-07. Sohail Khawar Mir and Rizwan Rashid have been elected as vice chairmen of the association from Northern & Southern Zone respectively by virtue of being elected as chairmen of the Zonal Boards.
