New shaving machine from Aletti

14 January 2003

First introduced in the November 2002 edition of Leather International, Italian machinery manufacturers Aletti officially launched their new De Prima shaving machine at Tanning Tech. It is a totally new machine from Aletti and has taken them several years of development work to produce the De Prima following more than 50 years' experience of building shaving machines. It features an adjustable gripper roller, which allows processors of heavy vegetable leathers or uneven raw materials such as zebu hides to be shaved. The new device also features upgraded software for the grinding mechanism which is fully enclosed by metal guarding. The grinding wheel is automatically lubricated with a disposable grease bottle, which can be unscrewed, replaced and thrown away cheaply and easily. Aletti have designed the whole machine to be simple to operate for one person and easy to maintain. The machine is available with a working width of 1800mm and the machine is capable of shaving small garment skins up to heavy veg sides. The De Prima is built on a single block and all working parts are safely enclosed in a metal frame. The machine settings can set automatically. However, the operative does have the option of adjusting the shaving thickness, the shading and the camber of the rollers using adjustment settings on the control panel.
