New shoe factories planned

Italian footwear producers Geox plan to open a factory in Pirot. Italian businessmen met with Serbian President Boris Tadic and stated they would invest the sum of e8 million in their production facility to be opened in the south of Serbia. In the first phase Geox will employ a total of 1,000 workers.


At the end of January Serbian Minister of Economy and Regional Development, Mladjan Dinkic, laid the foundation stone for a new factory by the shoe company Sanch in Vranje, in which €2 million will be invested. Dinkic said on the occasion that the new factory would create 200 jobs and added that a sum of €400,000 was contributed to the funds needed. Source: Serbia & Montenegro Today
