New Zealand cattle slaughter for export

Statistics New Zealand reports that a total of 163,616 head of cattle were slaughtered for export in New Zealand in November 2004. This figure compares with 230,054 head slaughtered in October and 189,999 head slaughtered in November 2003. New Zealand exported raw hides and skins, and leather, worth NZ$515 million (US$359 million) in the twelve months to the end of November 2004. This figure was 15.5% lower year-on-year.
