Novesta sales drop

6 February 2002

The Novesta footwear producer in Zlin in the Czech Republic recorded sales worth Kc553 million (US$1 = Kc40) last year, a fall of Kc50 million year-on-year. This was due to the absence of orders from foreign armed forces, according to the CTK news agency's Business News. Also having a negative effect on sales was the strong value of the Czech crown against the Euro. Exports accounted for 62% of last year's sales and were delivered almost exclusively to the European Union.
