Novochrom expansion in Russia

29 September 2003

Novochrom Limited, established in 2002 on the basis of one of the former production shops of OJSC Novotroitsk plant of Chromium Compounds in Russia, have experienced a period of substantial growth. With production developing dynamically, output of the factory is expected to have grown up to 50,000 tons/year by the end of spring 2004. Their business is concentrated on the production and sale of basic chrome sulfate and one of the most distinctive features of the factory is its capability to produce basic chrome sulfate with two production lines, using glucose in the first case and sulfur dioxide in the second in order ot reduce chromium compound solutions. Thus there are two types of basic chrome sulfate available: organic and inorganic. This is a valuable factor when taking the strong competition in the world market from other producers of basic chrome sulfate into account. With competitors such as the widely known and influential producers of basic chrome sulfate, Stoppani, Bayer and BASF, Novochrom have taken serious steps towards quality improvement since their establishment and strive to match the quality of these companies. As a result they can claim a number of leading European and Asian tanneries as their customers and business partners. The product is supplied in the most convenient way, packed in 25kg/net polypropylene/paper craft bags, stacked on pallets and shrink wrapped. The weight of one pallet is 1 mt. To get the goods delivered rapidly and conveniently to customers, all means of transport and different delivery basis are used, including door-to-door.
