Paris show just around the corner

19 December 2005

The next edition of Le Cuir A Paris will be held at the earlier time of February 21-24, 2006, and will present the new collections for spring/summer 2007 trends in colours and materials for the fashion and design sectors. In collaboration with the French 'Showroom Matério', the organisers will set up a 'Performance Table' where the most innovative materials with industrial applications, not necessarily related to fashion, will be shown. This will complement the fashion vision proposed in the Trends Gallery. 'Buyers, designers and consumers are sensible to the intrinsic qualities of the leathers they use. Whether they are non-pollutants, washable, anti-stain, transparent or anti-heat, all the innovations marketed by the exhibitors are valuable commercial arguments. By setting up the Performance Table, Le Cuir A Paris aims to highlight the added value of these products because this is not something which is very evident when people just have a quick look at the material. We have also looked at other sectors that are inspired by leather for their developments such as paperwork and ceramics', explains Marc Brunel, marketing/promotion manager of Le Cuir A Paris. As always, very supportive of young designers, Le Cuir A Paris is renewing the partnership with the IFM (Institut Français de la Mode). The 'IFM Designers' space will present unique pieces, created by ten international designers coming from England, Japan, Spain, Czech Republic… amongst others. Gloves, shoes and clothing will be presented, all items being co-signed by names such as Weston, Hermès, Louis Vuitton, and Arcus for shoes; Agnelle, Morand, Ganterie de St Junien, Poujade and Fabre for gloves (with the support of the French Federation of Gloving); Pollux, J-P Montaigne and Stand Cuir for clothing. The leathers have been supplied by Bodin-Joyeux (France), SCP (France), Carisma (Italy), Kero Leather (Sweden) and Vignola Nobile (Italy), all exhibiting companies at the show. The February 2006 edition will host an important participation by Italian tanneries. After a first participation last September, Conceria Montebello, Conceria Bomar, Sciarada and F.lli Poggetti, have decided to present their summer collections and Conceria Stefania and Conceria Del Chianti will be participating for the first time at Le Cuir A Paris. Riba Guixa and M C Clols from Spain, and Tess Deri and Derkon from Türkiye will be exhibiting for the first time at the spring/summer edition. The French tanneries will be participating with the collective French Pavilion organised by the FFTM (French Tannery Federation). Le Cuir A Paris will be held in hall 4 of the Parc des Expositions de Paris Nord Villepinte and will have a direct access from the main entry gallery of the exhibition park. Situated between the fairs Mod'Amont and Expofil/Première Vision, this new location will facilitate visits between the shows. A common aisle between Mod'Amont and Le Cuir A Paris will enable a better circulation of visitors between these two fairs, entrance to which remains free of charge.
