Polish footwear production and leather sales

Poland's Central Statistical Office reports that Poland produced 10.3 million pairs of footwear with leather uppers in 2008, a year-on-year decrease of 11.8%. Polish leather and leather products manufacturers saw their sales fall by 7.9% year-on-year.


In the first eleven months of 2008, the average price of goods sold by leather industry companies was 2.5% lower year-on-year.

The average gross monthly wage in Poland's leather industry in 2008 was US$558, a year-on-year increase of 8.5%. In comparison, the average gross monthly industrial wage in Poland in 2008 was US$972, a year-on-year increase of 10.1%.
