Polish leather and livestock production in 2007

Poland's Central Statistical Office reports that Poland exported raw hides and skins worth E21.1 million in 2007.


Italy accounted for E10.6 million of these exports. Poland also exported tanned leather worth E121 million last year, including exports worth E57.4 million to Germany, E21.1 million to Ukraine and E8.07 million to Slovakia. The production of ‘leather of bovine animals or of equine animals, without hair' in Poland in 2007 totalled 11,253 tons, compared with 12,382 tons in 2006 and 16,148 tons in 2005. The production of cattle and calves for slaughter in Poland in 2007 totalled 227,500 tons, compared with 222,300 tons in 2006 and 185,600 tons in 2005. Poland exported live bovine animals worth E141 million in 2007. Italy accounted for E60.6 million of these exports, followed by Spain with exports worth E27.8 million, and the Netherlands with exports worth E15.2 million.
