Richard Graves
26 March 2009It was with great sadness to report the death of Richard Graves on March 18, 2009. Richard Graves, joined the British School of Leather Technology, as a lecturer in 1980, having studied at the National Leathersellers College and worked at Garston Tanning Company and R B Sanders and Co.
Graves contributed significantly to the internationalisation of BSLT throughout ‘80s and ‘90s, and this remains a key platform for the development of the school. He retained a wide network of colleagues and friends across the world, from his work as both educator and consultant, by whom he will be greatly missed.
Richard Graves had a great sense of humour and was always a popular figure at BSLT among both students and colleagues. Coming from the tanning industry he also provided a hands-on practical approach to teaching to compliment the classroom theory.
