Romanian production and turnover in 2008

Romania's National Statistics Institute reports that the production of leather and leather products in Romania in 2008 was 2.3% higher than in 2007. In comparison, industrial output in Romania last year was 0.9% higher.


The combined turnover of leathergoods producers in Romania in 2008 was 16.8% lower than in 2007. In comparison, industrial turnover in Romania last year was 5.4% higher than in 2007.

Romania's National Statistics Institute also reports that labour productivity at companies manufacturing leathergoods in Romania in 2008 was 26.1% higher than in 2007. In comparison, labour productivity in Romania's industrial sector last year was 4.8% higher than in 2007.

Romania's National Statistics Institute reports that the average nominal monthly wage at leather industry companies in Romania rose 3.8% in December 2008 compared with the previous month.
