In comparison, the monthly and annual increases in industrial output in Romania in January were 1.6% and 6.1% respectively.

In comparison, the monthly decrease in turnover in Romanian industry in January was 5.9%, and the annual increase, 0.1%. Romania's National Statistics Institute reports that 61,000 head of cattle were slaughtered in Romania in January, compared with 44,000 head in the same month in 2007.
