Russia adds more US beef plants

Russia has authorised imports of beef from five more US processors. The plants owned by JBS-Swift & Co (Cactus, Texas, and Hyrum, Utah), Tyson Fresh Meats (Dakota City, Neb), and National Beef Packing Co (Dodge City, Kan, and Brawley, Calif).


Russia now has eight US beef packers on its list of authorised beef exporters for  this year, reflecting the country's increasing demand for foreign beef. Russia's imports of red meat rose 8.2% in 2007. Source: Meatingplace.com
