Russia - no sale of Sterlitamak stake

The government of the Russian republic of Bashkortostan has announced that it is to retain its 53% stake in the local Sterlitamak Leather-Footwear Combine, according to the Interfax news agency. The Bashkortostan government recently announced that it will be selling nearly all its stakes in local light industry companies at auctions during 2004.
