Russia returns pig skins

5 February 2008

Russia's Federal Veterinarian and Phytosanitary Control Service (Rosselkhoznadzor) sent back more than 40 tonnes of imported Danish-made pig skins which arrived from Germany in late January, according to the Interfax news agency. Inspectors discovered that the pig skin, seized by the Rosselkhoznadzor office in the Baltic enclave of Kaliningrad, had been produced at a facility in Denmark that is not allowed to export products to Russia.
