SATRA help understanding of REACH

9 June 2009

Satra have developed a training package and laboratory test programme to help companies fully comply with EU regulation on chemicals (REACH) for products.

The REACH regulation (EC 1907/2006) will now extend to encompass restrictions issued previously under European directives. The Marketing and Use Directive 76/769/EEC is one such directive that will be revoked and replaced as of June 1 by Annex XVII of the REACH regulation. Currently, there are 15 substances listed as of very high concern. It is, therefore, important that companies supplying articles into the EU market understand and review their compliance of the REACH regulation.

Due to the complexity of REACH, Satra have designed a seminar ‘REACH and Restricted Substances' which will run in the UK in Kettering, UK on September 22. The seminar will help anyone within the supply chain understand their responsibilities under REACH; it will also offer advice on other new legislation such as the American CPSC lead and phthalate requirements.
