Scottish name change

The Board of Scottish Tanning Industries Ltd has announced that with effect from July 1, 2005, the company will be named Scottish Leather Group Ltd. A special resolution to change the name was unanimously approved by shareholders at the company's annual general meeting held on June 24, 2005. The new name encompasses a more accurate description of the main trading activity in addition to providing a clear indication of the company's status as a parent of subsidiary leather manufacturing firms. The company's website address becomes [http://www.scottishleathergroup]. com and the email addresses will change to incorporate the individuals name @scottishleathergroup.com ie firstname.surname@scottishleathergroup.com All other details, including the company's registration number, remain the same. A new corporate identity has been introduced and this will be followed by the creation of new identities for each of the subsidiary companies later this year. The Scottish Leather Group Ltd comprises Andrew Muirhead & Son, Bridge of Weir Leather company, Garston Leather Ltd, W J & W Lang and NCT Leather Ltd. The group and its subsidiaries employ around 500 people in the UK. Turnover for the year to March 31 was £69 million, of which £51 million was exported. The group companies supply raw, wet-blue and wet-white hides to other leather producers in addition to making finished leather for the automotive, furniture, aviation, marine and rail transport industries.
