Senior Footwear Designer Outdoor
3 July 2008Our Client is a leading sportswear brand looking for an expert in extreme sports performance and Outdoor Footwear Design.
The successful candidate will conceptualise and design the key footwear ranges for the brand outdoor category, maintain design consistency throughout the product line from the direction outlined by Design Director, provide guidance in design to Junior Designers or Temps and help to create the overall category design direction.
The successful candidate will also work closely with Marketing to understand opportunities in the market and the category's strategic 3 year business plan; work with Development, Tech Services, and Product Testing to resolve product issues from design packages through commercialization, work with athletes and customers as a professional representative of the brand and work with factories and suppliers. In this role the candidate will also research functional criteria for the product and outline areas of innovation, create professional level presentations of ideas; from loose sketch to detailed renderings to PowerPoint, maintain communication with superiors and ensure the message is understood within the team, insure proper compliance of brand identity marks and usage on product You need to have: Bachelor degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university in Industrial design and four years related experience and /or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience; minimum 6 years practical experience in Outdoor footwear design; profound knowledge of Outdoor product and footwear design with awareness of athletic market and athletic culture; knowledge and use of Macintosh computer design software/systems (Photoshop, Illustrator); fluent in English (spoken and written) If you are interested in this role, please call the International Team on +44 (0) 20 7758 4520 or email your updated CV to international@freedomrecruit.com quoting reference GDP/SFDO
