Serbian production in 2008

Statistics Serbia reports that the production of leather and leather products in Serbia in 2008 was 2.7% lower than in 2007. In comparison, industrial output in Serbia in 2008 was 1.1% higher year-on-year.


A geographical breakdown of leather and leathergoods production in Serbia in 2008 reveals that production in Central Serbia fell by 6.5% year-on-year, while production in Vojvodina increased by 0.1%.

Serbia exported leather and leather products worth E178 million in 2008, compared with E161 million in 2007. Serbian imports of leather and leather products in 2008 were worth E267 million, as against E242 million the previous year. Leather and leather products accounted for 2.4% of total Serbian exports in 2008, ompared with 2.5% in 2007, with these commodity types accounting for 1.7% of total imports in 2008, as against 1.8% of imports in 2007.
