Seven-month foreign trade in Eastern Europe

Serbia's Statistical Office reports that Serbian exports of leather and leather products increased substantially in the first seven months of this year, compared with the same period in 2006. Exports worth E94.6 million were E19.7 million higher year-on-year. Serbian imports of the same types of commodities in the January to July period were worth E132 million, or E31.8 million higher year-on-year. Croatia's Central Bureau of Statistics reports that Croatia exported leather and leather products worth US$200 million in the first seven months of this year, a year-on-year increase of 14.7%. Croatian imports of the same types of commodities in the January to July period were 14.4% higher year-on-year at US$238. Ukraine's State Statistics Committee reports that Ukraine exported leather and leather products worth US$222 million in the first seven months of this year, a year-on-year increase of 54%. Ukrainian imports of the same types of commodities in the January to July period were 16% higher year-on-year at US$86 million. million. Albania's National Statistics Institute reports that Albania imported leather and leather products worth US$54.0 million in the first seven months of this year, compared with imports worth US$43.5 million in the same period in 2006. Albanian exports of the same types of commodities in the January to July period were worth US$14.5 million, as against US$9.75 million in the corresponding period last year.
