Stahl open new technical centre

Stahl Ibérica recently opened a new technical centre at Ribarroja del Turia, just outside the city of Valencia on Spain's eastern Mediterranean coast. This new investment in technical assistance to customers will provide invaluable support to the important leather industry in this area and will allow a faster response to meeting local customer needs. Frank Policky, leather business director of Stahl Europe, opened the new centre in the presence of more than 140 customers representing the tanneries in the Valencia Community. His message to the guests at the opening ceremony was: 'This new technical centre represents an important development for the leather community in the Valencia region and will bring an improved level of technical assistance using facilities that are very close to the tanneries.' Following the ceremony, guests were shown around a display of the latest leather trends in garments, footwear, upholstery and leathergoods. The 600m2 building in the El Oliveral industrial urbanización incorporates a 350m2 applications laboratory equipped with the latest finishing including a GeMaTa Starplus 1800 rollercoater, Mostardini hydraulic press and Barnini drying cabins and spray cabinet. Simplex computer controlled dyeing and retanning drums and colour matching equipment Inox from Inoxvic have been installed for use in wet-end application work. The rest of the building houses offices, a meeting room and warehouse area for both flammable and non-flammable products. Throughout the building the very latest safety standards have been built-in to provide maximum health and safety conditions in the use of machinery and all activities carried out in the new working environment.
