Stahl provide REACh booklet

23 February 2011

A 12-page booklet on the new REACh regulations has been produced by Stahl to help customers in the leather and coatings industries in understanding the impact of the new European Community REACh regulations on their business.

‘Stahl within REACh/REACh within Stahl’ has been compiled by a group of experts working within Stahl to ensure that the company’s chemical manufacture, import and marketing are fully compliant with both the EC REACh and CLP (Classification Labelling and Packaging, EU-GHS) regulations. It explains how European companies must operate and the steps that must be taken by companies supplying their products to European countries in ensuring that their operations are fully compliant. Failure to register substances in products, for example, will mean that the business will not be allowed to operate.

Most people find that the legalistic language in which such regulations as these are written is complex to understand. Stahl’s booklet has been written in straightforward language with the intent of helping companies working within the leather and coatings industries to understand their obligations under these REACh and CLP regulations. Together, these are probably the most far reaching regulations to have been introduced with the aim of assuring a safe and healthy environment in which people can work within the chemical industries. Compliance is vital.

The booklet is available free-of-charge from Stahl companies around the world, subject to availability.
