27 February 2003

With China's leather and footwear industries continuing to grow, Matech China 2003 provides the opportunity to see and source the latest machines, technology, components and materials to make higher quality products. The exhibition is specifically targeted towards the footwear, leathergoods and travelware industries. The exhibition, which takes place from April 2-4, 2003, at the Guangdong Modern International Exhibition Centre in Dongguan, Guangdong Province, China, is expected to attract a strong Asian contingent. In addition to two pavilions from India and Taiwan and two machinery groups from China, there will also be exhibitors attending from Bangladesh, Hong Kong, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan and Thailand. The largest delegation will be manufacturers of components for footwear and leathergoods from China. One new feature at the exhibition will be the multimedia presentation of the trends for spring-summer 2004 by Modeurop which will be undertaken by the Council for Leather Exports India. This highlights Asia's increasing confidence in the field of fashion and will cover leather and materials, shoes, shoe components and accessories. Other interesting features include the Annual Footwear Committee Conference and a forum on the footwear industry organised by the China Leather Industry Association to attract key industry players.
