Strong asian visitor presence at Lineapelle

18 October 2011

The first morning of the Lineapelle fair in Bologna today was a fairly subdued affair although visitor numbers did pick up in the afternoon. Lineapelle is being held along with the tanning and footwear machinery shows Tanning Tech and Simac in Bologna.
As usual the central trend selection area was busy and there was a higher than usual number of visitors from asia, particularly China.

A total number of 1117 exhibitors covering a surface area of 41,513 sq m exhibited on the first day of Lineapelle which takes place up to October 20 at the Bologna Fiera exhibition grounds. 763 exhibitors are from Italy with a further 354 attended from all over the world (42 countries).

Leathers on show this year are for the autumn/winter 2012/13 season. Lineapelle organisers, UNIC, are anticipating around 18,000 visitors attending the show from some 94 countries. UNIC say that Italian tanneries have increased sales by 10% this year with increased sales to UK, Hong Kong, China, Spain, France and Germany.

The tannery machinery show, Tanning Tech only covered half of hall 35 this year as most of sixty or so exhibitors chose not to show any machinery this year. Some stands did include machinery with Cartigliano and Gemata highlighting several pieces of equipment. Only two chemical companies are exhibiting at Tanning Tech this year.
