Trade delegations to Vietnam and Russia

Acexpiel, the export arm of Spanish tanners' association, organised two commercial missions to Vietnam and Russia last month. The mission has the support of the Sectorial Plan of 2002 and ICEX. The Russian visit also included the collaboration of the Spanish commercial office in Moscow. The Vietnam mission, which was organised with the collaboration of the OFCOMES of Ho Chi Minh City. Acexpiel acted as a bridge between Spanish companies and shoe factories, leathergoods manufacturers, importers, distributors and agents within Vietnam. Participating companies included three tanneries, the association of footwear components and six shoe component companies. Acexpiel also took an information stand at the Shoes & Leather fair held in Ho Chi Minh, July 3-5. The commercial mission to the Russian Federation took place from July 22-26. Eight tanneries and small skin producer participated in the mission where it is estimated that 70% of all leather is imported into the Russian market from outside. The mission visited local shoe and leathergoods manufacturers and had meetings with distributors, importers and agents. In addition, Acexpiel, took an information stand for the use of the Spanish companies at the International Leather and Fur Fair 'Le Show 2002' which is held in the Expocenter in Moscow from July 24-26.
