Footwear UK returns to the NEC Birmingham in August, 10-12, and, as before, it will be running alongside the two MODA shows, combining to make it the biggest and most comprehensive mainstream UK fashion buying event under one roof. Quite a number of new exhibitors have come on board, in particular lifestyle brands who need to be in front of both footwear and clothing buyers. Show organizers DEW Events have continued to develop the show in a number of different ways: dividing walls between the exhibitions have been dispensed with where possible, bringing fashion and footwear together. More than 100 exhibitors will launch their new footwear ranges for the spring/summer 2004 season: Amalfi will be showing sandals and shoes in narrow width fittings 3A, 2A B and C American; Connolly Leisurewear have extended their Victor Ludorum Collection to include footwear, targeted at 18 - 35 year olds; Caprice shoes are renowned for flexibility, lightness of weight, high quality and young design and their new range offers ladies comfort in new styles and materials, all offering patent technology, high-tech air cushioned shoes with optimal moisture reduction, good air circulation, insulation against cold and warmth and constant shock-absorbing. DKM Children's Shoe (Joseph Seibel kids) are launching their fast developing DKM range made up of high specification shoes and sandals in quality materials with contoured underfoot comfort in slim, medium and wide fittings; Ecco will present their ECCO Kids SS04 collection building on their astonishing reception to the launch in 2003. Unique, innovative and comfortable shoes for children, in particular, Ecco will launch a new range of trainers for children aged 6+ that feature flashing lights as part of the shoe's design - ECCO X-Treme features flashing red hearts for the girls and shining blue arrows for the boys. Elephanten have introduced new comfort footbeds for junior girls along with rich colour and material options and sharp designs. The boys collection has new units and exciting designs incorporating neoprene, leathers and new materials. Lots of earth and natural tones along with next years colours and materials and blue to bring the collection to life. Euroleathers will be showing the complete range of Collonil Shoe Care products. Also Goretex approved Waterproof sprays and polishes and a selection of specialist polishes for aniline calf footwear and lanolin polishes for softening leather. Gabriela Castro ladies footwear is manufactured in Buenos Aires using the highest quality Argentine leather. Uppers, linings and soles are all genuine leather using traditional manufacturing techniques. All shoes are hand-finished and many are stitched by hand. The range is distinctive, incorporating classic sling-backs and mules in folded kid and a range of sensual colours with original style-conscious comfort sandals that soothe and sharp contemporary evening shoes. The Gabriela Castro range includes matching handbags. Gola offers a diverse mix of options on style, uppers patterns and a vibrant colour palette. Highlights include trainer and boot designs inspired by Formula One fashion, low profile sole units and kids trainers featuring funky flashing light designs. Hi-Tec has been designing and manufacturing quality lightweight sports, outdoor and casual footwear since 1974. At the show, they will highlight the new ADVENTURE TRAVEL collection. Fashionable, lightweight and instantly comfortable. Hush Puppies men's range has sporty ultra-lightweight styling in soft supple leathers, suede and nubuck. Everyday casuals in burnished leathers with uppers hand sewn onto rubber soles for increased flexibility and two colour soles for added interest. The 'Cruise' group is the summer offering of 'sockless moccasins' as a good alternative to sandals. In ladies, the new ranges see the introduction of a high fashion Japanese influenced pump with a turn-up toe and the successful Japanese feel from autumn/winter 2003 will continue with refreshed new patterns, short fronted looks, open waisted styles and features such as bars and cut outs. Newly developed super soft deer cow leathers, a new porcelain colour summer boot, turn up toes, buckles and bows and floral in-socks are all part of the new offer from Hush Puppies for the spring/summer 2004 season. Hush Puppies are the sponsor of the Young Designer of the Season Award at Footwear UK. Jacobson Footwear encompasses key looks for the season - bursts of colour and creative finishing touches to a vast range of fashion inspired boots, naïve ballerina styles, killer points and designs that build on the 'how low can you go' theme. Josef Seibel are launching their new range of fashionable casuals featuring clogs, sandals and summer shoes for men and women. A move forward in fashionability, new style developments and eye-catching details as always underpinned by the supreme Seibel comfort. Kidderminster say the key look to next season is contrasting styles and constrasting colours. The court shoe returns with a twist with upper patterns featuring ruched elastic toplines to more classic open waist, heels from sky scraper high to ballerina flat. Colour plays a vital part from New Black to vibrant brights bringing a kaleidoscope of colour. L J & R Footwear are launching for the first time their new high fashion Ebony boot collection featuring ankle and three-quarter length boots for immediate delivery. Mephisto will present its new outdoor brand 'Allrounder'. Priority is given to function, perfect fit and high quality resulting in best-fitting shoes and sandals for men and women. Features include 'Grip Profile' non-skid abrasion-resistant multifunctional outsole, 'Active Suspension System' patented shock-absorbers in the heel and 'Dynamic Control' lateral stabilizers for optimum support and extreme high grip on uneven or wet surfaces. Merrell have fused athletic performance with retro style to create diverse new categories and styles for the season. Spearheading the collection is the Boardrunner, a range combining the best athletic midsole technology to promote comfort and performance, and premium Pittard leather uppers. In the new Nomad category is a selection of men's and women's casual shoes, slides and sandals. Moda in Pelle has an exciting and inspirational collection of bold shapes and styling with influences from classic 40's/50's femininity, through to essences of Punk and Glam Rock. Iridescent fabrics, ribbon details and crystal-encrusted evening wear insure that pretty feminine forms are as strong as ever this season. Pikolinos' summer collection for 2004 is full of freshness and vitality, harnessing the natural and positive energy of oriental culture. Simplicity of form, anatomical cohesion, ethnic stitching and Arabian inspired designs are some of the characteristics that add to the quality and flexibility of the materials used. Quayside/Deck Leisurewear are the UK's only dedicated deck shoe company with a brand which was established nearly twenty years ago and now available in over twenty countries worldwide. Renoir have extended their Quattro range of hand sewn apron fronted moccasins to include lace shoes and boots with reflective inserts. As well as regular black and tan leathers the colour palette has been broadened to include navy, ecru and honey. Two eye boots and shoes, loafers and trim shoes are at the core of the Casino range with black, nut and amber the feature colours, all in supersoft Italian leathers topped off with electric blue linings and logo decals. Ricosta specialise in children's footwear from girlish toddler shoes with nubuck, shiny textiles and appliqués to triple Velcro boxing boots, Hippie-look new clogs, rainbow colour sandals with flower prints, new trekking type looks for boys, and hard wearing outdoor shoes and sporty looks for little boys and girls. Sebago offer a diverse range of casual, smart casual and formal footwear for men and women. Famous for the world-renowned Dockside, Sebago will preview many new additions in both marine and high street categories. A new colour spectrum will be introduced in Docksiders and new man sandals will complete the marine category with new leathers and lasts to classic silhouettes. Shalimar Shoes specialise in elegant feminine diamante shoes for daywear into eveningwear, ideal for special occasions and using quality materials and intricate handiwork. Unze is a new brand which is being launched by Shalimar Shoes. Shoes South Africa again brings together ten manufacturers from South Africa: Agape, Angel (new to Footwear UK), Bolton, Crown, Dick Whittington, Caprini, Michelle, Renoli, Apeco, and Cavalli - a range of ostrich leather shoes handcrafted in South Africa. The men's shoe has a robust leather sole applied with the international Goodyear welted contruction and the vamp is ostrich skin lined while the quarters are lined with fine calf leather. Uppers are guaranteed for 10 years. Vicki Beth hand-crafted leather shoes and matching handbags aim to cover the complete spectrum from clsssic square toe shapes through pointed toes to ultra modern/retro rounded toes. Shoes and handbags are made to order in a choice of textures, colours and printed leathers. William Lamb Footwear will showcase their children favourites - Barbie, Fimbles, Action Man. At Footwar UK, the new Barbie knee boots plus a superb range of leisure footwear and dozens of new lines will be on show.
